Jane Janzer is EFI’s “Winning Kid”
2005-2006 and 2006-2007
Ten-year-old Jane Janzer feels at home in and out of the water whether
as a very good swimmer or as a font of information on anything to do with the
ocean. She also likes turtles, butterflies, roller coasters, and all things Harry
Potter. She’s a good writer. Jane’s summer teacher, Ms. Rose, says it best.
“You are a fine writer who creates vivid and lively stories.” She continues,
"I loved learning so many things about animals from you! You are an encyclopedia of information about sea creatures and many other animals.”
Jane, daughter of Jennifer and Scott Janzer of Boise, is the Epilepsy
Foundation of Idaho’s 2005-2006 Winning Kid. She was diagnosed with
complex partial seizures when she was five years old. Since then she has
faced some of the challenges that can accompany a seizure disorder. She’s been
on a number of medications and has traveled out-of state to have extensive epilepsy evaluations. Even
though she still has seizures, she is learning more and more how to cope with her epilepsy.
This school year Jane attends Collister School where she receives lots of support as she learns her
lessons.
During this year, Jane’s parents, Jennifer and Scott, and all the members of her close knit,
supportive family will share Jane’s story at a number of Epilepsy Foundation of Idaho events. They will speak
at the “Winning Kid” luncheon scheduled for December 8 and at the St.
Valentine’s Day Massacre on
February 10, 2006. Both events
will be held in Boise.
All EFI members and others
in Idaho who support the
epilepsy cause congratulate Jane
Janzer. Thank you Jane, for
representing all Idaho children
who, like you, meet life straight
on with enthusiasm and
courage regardless of your
seizures.

Jane and mother Jennifer speak at luncheon.
