Do you Know a Winning Child With Epilepsy?
Idaho's "Winning Kid" is a special child who represents the 6,000 Idaho children with epilepsy. The winning candidate is also entered in the national Epilepsy Foundation's "Winning Kid" contest in the spring.
The Foundation honors all children with epilepsy, those who have learned to live with their disorder, and those who have overcome difficulties or succeeded in a special activity. Small victories over big challenges are important. The "Winning Kid" must be between the ages of 6 and 10 (who will not reach his or her 10th birthday before July of the year following entry) is eligible to enter. The winner will represent the Foundation by attending various regional activities throughout the year, from September throughout the following summer.
Entries should include a recent photograph of the child and a statement from a parent or guardian detailing why the child would be a good "Winning Kid", the nature of his or her seizure disorder, and how the child has lived with epilepsy. Please mail entries to the Epilepsy Foundation of Idaho, 310 West Idaho, Boise, ID 83702. For more information, call in the Treasure Valley area, 344-4340 and outside this area 1-800-237-6676.

As Idaho's "Winning Kid" for 1998 -1999, Justine Streeby of Sweet, paid a visit to the governor's office to celebrate Epilepsy Month, November, 1998.
