Applications Now Available for the UCB Family Epilepsy Scholarship Program™

People with epilepsy, their family members, or caregivers, are encouraged to apply

WHAT: UCB, Inc. will award 30 one-time scholarships in 2008 as follows:

  • Twenty $5,000 scholarships to people with epilepsy
  • Ten $5,000 scholarships to family members or caregivers of people with epilepsy

To apply, you must certify that you are:

  • A U.S. citizen and/or legal and permanent resident of the United States
  • A person with epilepsy or a family member/caregiver of a person with epilepsy
  • Seeking an undergraduate or graduate degree
  • A student who demonstrates academic achievement, possesses a strong record of participation in activities outside of school, and serves as a positive role model
  • Graduating from high school in 2008 or have already graduated from high school
  • Enrolled in, or awaiting acceptance from, a United States-based institution of higher education for fall semester 2008

DEADLINE: The completed application must be postmarked by May 2, 2008. Scholarship winners will be notified in August.

WHY: Exceptional achievement deserves special recognition. UCB continues to demonstrate a one-of-akind commitment to improving the lives of people living with epilepsy, including patients, family members, and caregivers, by literally investing in their future. The UCB Family Epilepsy Scholarship Program™ provides financial support for academic and personal achievement. In just 3 years, UCB has awarded more than $375,000 in educational grants. In 2007, UCB awarded
scholarships to 30 students.
