Luncheon Honors Jane Janzer, EFI’s Winning Kid
Seventy-five guests gathered for a luncheon at the Rose
Room in Boise on December 8th to salute Idaho's 2006
Winning Kid, Jane Janzer. Ten-year-old Jane is the
daughter of Scott and Jennifer Janzer and has been chosen
to represent all Idaho children with epilepsy throughout the
year.
Jennifer recounted Jane's and the family's struggles
with difficult-to-control complex partial seizures for the
past five years. This close-knit family is an inspiration to
all who face the daily challenges of living with a seizure
disorder. You can read more about Jane, who was featured
in the last Epiletter, by visiting EFI's website,
www.epilepsyidaho.org.

Dr. Robert Kustra, president of Boise State University,
was the featured speaker at the luncheon. His daughter
began having seizures when she was a college student and
he contrasted their family's experiences with those of the
Janzers'. Dr. Kustra also emphasized the importance of
epilepsy education through programs and services,
thanking EFI and other epilepsy affiliates.
Alan Minskoff served as emcee and music was
provided by Bill Courtial. Hosted by UCB, Inc., the
luncheon raised over $10,000 to support the programs of
the Epilepsy Foundation. EFI is grateful to the Janzer and
Kustra families for sharing their stories and serving as role
models for the epilepsy community at large.
