New EFI Board Member, Tonya Sears,
Hails from North Idaho
The Epilepsy Foundation of Idaho is excited to welcome new board member
from Post Falls, Tonya Sears. Tonya became involved with EFI last year when
her son, nine year old Jakob, was named Winning Kid for north Idaho. Her
commitment to the epilepsy cause is evident by her participation as an advocate
for her son and as spokesperson for the epilepsy community. With eloquence and
compassion, she shared the family's story of Jokob's epilepsy first at the Winning
Kid luncheon last November and then at the St. Valentine's Day Massacre in
February. She helped with the Day of HOPE conference. In addition, the whole
family represented EFI in both the Post Falls Day Parade and the Coeur d'Alene
4th of July parade.
Tonya grew up in Libby, Montana, and met her husband, Shane, there. They
now have two sons, Jakob and Dylan, who is five. Tonya works for the Post
Falls School District, and Shane is a software developer. Tonya enjoys the
outdoors, scrapbooking and family time. The whole family enjoys sports.
Welcome Tonya. The Idaho epilepsy community looks forward to your
presence on the board. Your energy, talents, and commitment will benefit all
Idahoans with seizure disorders.
