St. Valentine's Day Massacre
Silver Anniversary Gala was held on
February 8, 2008
The 26th Annual St. Valentine’s Day Massacre was held on February 8, 2008 at Boise Centre on the Grove. Known for the Green Show antics at Idaho Shakespeare Festival, this silver anniversary was a gala celebration with The Fool Squad taking potshots at honorees of the past 24 years.
A more serious note of the evening was provided by Greg Mortenson, author of the best seller Three Cups of Tea which chronicles his efforts to build schools in some of the most dangerous regions in the world in Pakistan and Afghanistan. The impetus of Mr. Mortenson’s efforts in Central Asia was to honor the memory of his sister who died at age 23 as the result of epilepsy. Mr. Mortenson will receive a special award from the Epilepsy Foundation.
The next St. Valentine's Day Massacre is scheduled for February 6, 2009.
The Epilepsy Foundation of Idaho has copies of Greg Mortenson’s bestselling book, Three Cups of Tea, available for purchase in our Boise office. Cost is $15.

Gibson Les Paul Junior Guitar
auctioned off!

These guitars were donated to the Epilepsy Foundation of Idaho by Greg
Grunberg, who plays police officer Matt Parkman on the NBC TV show
Heroes. Greg has become an outstanding spokesperson for those living with
epilepsy every day, like his son, Jake. Our hope is that Greg’s involvement
with the Epilepsy Foundation of America will help to eliminate the
inappropriate stigma often associated with this disorder. Gibson Guitars has
donated several Les Paul Junior guitars to Greg’s cause. Greg has gotten
various celebrities to paint and sign these guitars, which are then sold at
auction to raise money for epilepsy awareness. Read more download pdf file
